i posted something called babyiguanafromhell about a week and a half ago on the herp rock bulletin board (thought i did it here, too, but alas- i cannot find it!)

regardless, i had a thrashing,obnoxious little rescue who i could not stand and who could not stand me (this is not to be confused with the other rescue who died last week...)

anyway- here's what i did... i got him, once i had him for a few minutes, he'd calm down a bit. then i was able to put a little iggy leash on him. attached, and set upon my shoulder- he went about the day with me. (i live in southern califonia where it's relatively warm) i'm a teacher, and so i went outside for recess and lunch. the kids loved it, of course. i did it again the next day. after that, he was completely tame, and still is. it seems to me that when it's only you and the iguana, it's him/her against you (if they are untamed)- but if they kinda know you- as soon as they are out of their realm, you become their buddy by default (they know you better than the rest of the world).

angel and i are the best of friends these days, and he still comes to school with me every day...(i would HATE to spend my life in a cage...)then he comes home, has his light, heat, and food. (not that he doesn't get food and about an hour worth of direct sunlight while we're at school...)

anyway, we're always posting our problems and concerns (at least i am)- i wanted to share something positive!

(always been a water dragon and leopard gecko gal- this iguana thing is new...)
