LOL...
I know exactly what you mean about getting confused. It CAN be tough to keep everything straight. One suggestion I have, as far as heat sources are concerned, is a radiant heat panel as opposed to a CHE. Now, keep in mind that I've never used a CHE - never will. I'm just not a big fan of them as far as igs are concerned. If you can supply enough heat by using just bulbs, great ! But if you have to suppliment with something, take a look at the panels. While we are still building Mel's new enclosure, I HAVE played with the panel we bought and I can honestly say that I am amazed with it - at least on short term usage. We're running it in though an ESU rheostat and it is remarkably accurate. Now, you WILL pay more for a panel upfront, no question. But, they come with a 10 year guarantee, as supposed to use less electricity, and only have a surface temp of 130* or so, as opposed to a CHE which I'm told can hit closer to 400*. Feel free to correct me, folks. I'm not sure if it will fit into your new design or not but it may be worth a look.
As far as buying anything online, we do all of our purchasing (with the exception of "emergency" supplies) from Herpsupplies.com. While the majority of his business comes from online orders, we've actually met John and been to his shop on several occassions as he's only a relaxing half hour ride on New Hampshire backroads from us. He's a great guy - VERY knowledgable. The day we brought Dharma home we had to shoot to his place because we had literally NOTHING for her. We picked up EVERYthing we needed from him for under $250 - including a 55 gal. "scratch and dent" tank that he had. Just for giggles, we went to that PetCompany to compare prices and it would have cost us closer to $400 for the exact order. Who knows, maybe if you mention us he'll give you a free fridge magnet or something...LOL
Now that I've fed your confusion more, anything else we can throw at you ??...;)~
