I would say that if you can afford to go with all plexi then go right ahead (now that I've thought some more about it..LOL) Plexi vs. wood, IMO, is more of a cost conflict than anything else. 4 coats of polyurethane on plywood should keep it easy to manage as far as cleanup but from the sounds of it it's totally your choice at this point...;) You've got enough info and you're on top of your game enough - time to flip a coin..;)~ Like everyone has pointed out, make sure that Lizzy has a place to hide and get away from everyone if she wants to. VERY important, especially with gravidity. Also, make sure that it's easy enough for you to install all of your electronics which is either drilling and mounting directly through the plexi or running wood strips in enough locations to mount.
Speaking of electronics, I'm curious now. What are you using for heat sources ?
