Greetings,
I am sorry to hear that your ig is not doing so well. As I have to give my ig injections every other day, I can sympathize with you and how you are feeling. When we rescued our ig from an ignorant owner he was being kept in a rabbit cage (he was 3'10" at the time, don't know the metric equivalent, sorry.) fed garbage (dried ig food based off of cardboard as near as we can tell...) and just not doing very well. There was also a dead turtle shell in the cage with him, which is where I think the bacterial infection came from that is now plaguing him. To make a long story short (yeah right!!!), we give him injections every other day of Amiglyde. We were cautioned that this med can have disastrous effects on the kidneys, and as such we have been pushing the water thru his system every day as well. The reason I bring this up is that Baytril is a stronger version of the Amiglyde that we are using. If he already has kidney problems, that could be another nail in the coffin for the poor guy. I would check with the vet about that and possibly another vet in the area that specializes in herps. Sorry to sound alarmist, but I would double check with the vet if this is a good thing.
