thanks for the compliment!!!

i agree with HD ~ prob'ly a seasonal sort of thing as far as the smaller appetite goes ... and then combine that with the stress of the power outage a couple weeks back that y'all went thru ~ i'm bettin' that it's a combination of the 2 and that there's nothing to be too concerned about ... and remember ~ if she's eating less, there's gonna be less coming out the other end too! (*grin*) ...

+ HD made a good point with the base of the tail + weight loss ~ if an ig's just lookin' a bit thinner around the middle, it's prob'ly not a big deal *unless* the tail base is also getting thinner (that's where igs store extra fat) ~

tempt her with her favorite nummy foods and sprinkle some extra water on her salads and tell her spring WILL be here soon! (it will right!?!?!?)

~~
yes iZ has rotten kidneys + he's fought his way back to good health tooth + claw! (*grin*) ... some signs that you SHOULD worry ... (in general, not just with kidney probs):

1~~ constipation ... constipation is *not just* a total lack of poop and is *not just* smaller amounts ... constipation is when the poop is smaller, harder, drier than what has been normal for the ig ...

2~~ dehydration ... (which can be a cause of constipation) ... ig's mouth is gummy looking inside ... skin may feel dry/flakey ... may have problems shedding ... eyes may look red or 'blood-shot' ... *may* act thirsty ... iZ's scales did really weird things cuz he got so severely dehydrated sooo fast ~ the little ones on his back would flake off like confetti ~ the larger scales like on his thighs, began to curl up ...
consider dehydration with any weird skin/scale things ...

(both constipation and dehydration can make people feel queasy + not have much of an appetite ... i think it's true for igs too)

3~~ weight loss ~ slight changes up/down in weight are normal ... if an ig *suddenly* seems to have lost weight that's another thing and needs medical attention ... (when iZ first got sick, he went from 11.5 pounds to barely 7 pounds in a month ... he visibly wasted away in front of me ~)

i'm sure there's more ~ those are the biggies tho ...

if you're still really worried, by all means see the vet and get some peace of mind ... but if she's still eating/pooping fairly good, she's prob'ly ok + you're just worrying abit too much ... (which is something i would never do ... *cough cough*) ... :) ... pay attention to how she's *acting* ... iZ acts very differently when he's grouchy/stressed than when he's actually not feeling good ...

*whew* i think i wore myself out talking ...
Bon.
