This is the time of the year that many iguanas cut back on eating. I can name you four right now, that have cut way back. I firmly believe as I have stated in the past on this forum, that iguanas are effected by pressures (highs & Lows) and the moon's phases. Even if you keep cage temps up in the 90's, I think iguanas know that it's winter time. And with it being winter time, they seem to want to cut back on feeding.
In my opinion, weight loss only gets serious when your iguana's tail starts to sink at the base. If this happens chances are, it's something medically wrong and attention should be ASAP.
Harry has probably lost a pound over the winter but his tail is still as huge as very, he's just lost most of his weight in his mid section. All four of ours, are use to eating 2 to 3 bowls a day, during the spring, summer and fall; but right now they're at 1/2 to 1 bowl a day if even that.
Another opinion that it could be ( I know, you probably was hoping for only 1...sorry ) is that they missed part of the ovaries and your iguana is developing eggs again. This can and has happened to a few iguanas. But I'd lay more money on the fact it's winter time and your iguana is just naturally cutting back.
Also just a side note, for normal blood work (no problems, just wanting to see your iguana's condition is) I would recommend having it done around May or June during their normal phase. This is my opinion again, but taking blood work during the winter is going to show different signs than taking labs during the late Spring or early summer months. Another good reason for doing this, is you can then get an idea of what Vitamins, minerals and humidity is need to recover your iguana from the stresses relating to breeding season and winter months. If I was rich, I'd be doing to labs per year on all of our igs, 1 around May and another around Oct., but that's $150.00 per ig and I just can't be dropping $600.00 dollars extra a year on that, I'd rather use it for adding on to their cages.
Well I've talked too much as always.....LOL give me a keyboard and away I go!!!
Best wishes and try to relax some.

PS thanks for the compliments!
