I'm fairly new to the the iguana scene myself, but after reading a ton of info on the little critters and trying to decide who actually knows what they're talking about and who doesn't, I've come up with my own conclusions about feeding - be they right or be they wrong...........

1. High Ca:P ratio;
2. Low Calcium Oxalate content;
3. No animal protien; no spinach;
4. Proper balance of greens, salad and fruits;
4. Melissa Kaplan and Iguana Den are probably the two most accurate and well researched places to go for info on the 'net;
5. Don't believe ANYTHING you read in a book about igs found at a pet store (ie. feed 'em commercial foods; feed 'em mice and crickets; use a sizzle rock for warmth; they are "easy, carefree pets!"; etc...).

You're right, there seems to be a lot of contradictory info out there, but it still seems that the majority of folks that seem to know (and care) about their igs lean toward the above conclusions. Good luck, and let us know how the little guys are doing. I've only had "Rex the Wonder Lizard" for a few months, but he seems healthier and happier with every passing day after following the advice from the "iguana gurus" here on the forum.
