maybe a different bath-technique would help??? it did take iZ quite a while to go from being terrified + hating baths to positively loving 'em ... make the water about 85 degrees and keep it fairly shallow so he doesn't float ... iZ *hates* the faucet running so i have the water all ready before i bring him into the bathroom ... might be worth a try ...
i positively *love* those cool-mist/ultrasonic humidifiers!!! iZ's room has one that runs 24/7 this time of year ... when he was smaller + in an enclosure, i had it set up outside the enclosure + used big fat plastic tubing to 'pipe in' the mist ...
getting extra fluids into Elmo will also do Alot to help him shed ... either drinks from an oral syringe or at least spray his salads down with water even more than usual ...
i use aloe on iZ ... KY works but doesn't soak in like aloe does and leaves a yechy dried film in you glob too much on (which i always do ...) ... get the kind that has no additives, just pure aloe ... i also use small amounts of mineral oil on his spikes cuz he always has a miserable time shedding them ...
oh ~ iZ sez i forgot an important bathtime *must* ... he likes to have a washcloth draped over him while he's soaking in the tub! (+ it HAS to be blue!!!) ... keeps him from getting a chill and gets his spikes soaked better than they would be otherwise ... (and he likes to pretend he's Super Dragon ... shhhh ... don't let him know i told you ...)
Bon.
