I know exactly what that is because my 8 year old green iguana just went through that and is recovering well. that is a calcium defficiancy and the reason he has lost the use of his back legs is because his body is consuming the calcium from the muscles in his legs. The illness can be reversed in some cases. You must act quickly! (1) You might want to take him to a vet that has some expirience in reptiles.(2) go out and buy a calcium supplement and use as directed on the label.(3) You must provide the iguana with direct sun light (that means through a screen no glass for glass reflects the essential UVB rays from the sun.or a flourescent bulb such as vita-lite ECT. but I recomend the dirrect sun light.(4) keep the iguana well hydrated.(5) Feed the iguana collard greens, turnup greens, and (important) other greens that have a higher calcium to phospherous ratio. If you need more Info.E-mail Me. Good luck!
