#1 You need your flourecent light ALOT closer most advice says 16 inches minumun I always put a shelf right under them 6-8 inches I also would recomend using Zoo med 5.0 lights there iguana light and repti light are the same thing just different names http://www.lllreptile.com/ has them for 19.95 .
#2 1 heat lamp just aint gonna do it with that size cage you will need AT LEAST 4 small watt lights or 2 high watt lights .
#3 You will need a ceramic heater .
#4 1.5 foot deep is going to be outgrown fast . it is allot easier to build a cage from full 4 by 8 foot sheets if your ceiling is not 8 foot just trim the height if you stand three sheets on end and screw them together you get a 4 by 4 by however high you cut the top very easy . then you just have to put a top bottom and doors on it .
#5 I would recomend using melamine it is perfect for iguana cages and very easy to clean it runs about 30 dollars a sheet .
#6 I do NOT recomend using glass or plexiglas Iguanas do NOT like to look at themselves it can realy stress some iguanas . I myself use pvc coated hardware cloth ( MR cloth man 4 emery ave rt 10 Randolf NJ 07869) you might be able to get it from a local hardware store .
#7 The shelvs and ramps can be very hard to keep clean melamine is also good for shelves they even make an iron on strip for the cut edges so there is no exposed wood this does not work for ramps good as it offers no traction .
#8 6 foot is a to high for a young iguana they LOVE to jump off high things and they break toes legs amongst other things I would put a panel in so you only have a 4 foot tall cage for him and you can take it out when he gets bigger .
I only keep young iguanas in cages it is better to give them a whole room for themselvs .
Hope this helps you .
