I moved and let a teacher iguana sit my desert iguana. When I picked her up yesterday, it appears she was dying. I had to drive from south Louisiana to Texas, but I felt it was unsafe to leave her at the woman's house.
Isabella is skinny-looking. Her tail is lumpy and her skin hangs. She is lethargic. I thought it might be calcuim deficiency, and force-fed her water and calcium powder in an eye dropper. She drank it down, and kept sticking her tongue out repeatedly afterward. I offered her apple, and she didn't eat, though she "tongued" it as well.
The sitter said her tank smelled really badly, and she just changed out the sand to clea, styrilized playground sand. She said she was very active the day before, during the changing of the sand.
It is almost 4 AM and I am awake watching her. She is sitting on her playgym, with her eyes closed. She moves her head occasionally. Any ideas?????
How much calcium and how often?
