Elmo, the little desert iguana that was not looking too good a couple of weeks back is doing really great! This weekend he has eaten his veggies all on his own, without any assistance! The little gaffer is even losing some of his skin folds and is turning into quite the energetic iguana!
He now has a really warm basking spot (~110F) with a great ambient temp. of 85-90 - with a few spots to cool of in of course. He has responded nicely to the several-times-daily "watering". While he was not eating, he was receiving his calcium supplement through an eyedropper, with water mixed in - hey, it worked!
Any thoughts on how long we should keep up with the daily calcium supplements? Keep in mind he did show signs of MBD (ie toe tremors)- he was never given any supplements or UV lights until 2 weeks ago (he is now 1yr old). Thanks!
Candace
