don't let it go. If it were going into a sactuary or refuge it would probably be just fine. But since it's not, there are a lot of natural (and unnatural) predators out there that could make quick work of that iguana. As HD said, if you would like to keep it I'd take some time introducing the 2 in a neutral territory. Some iguanas get along, some don't, and some that have gotten along for years may suddenly become the worst enemies. You would have to be prepared to keep them separately if the need arose.
As a side note, I had a 3 foot iguana (11" SVL) get into my brick fireplace wall several years ago. This was a tame pet that I'd had for some time. It took me almost 3 weeks, a hole drilled into the cast iron fire wall, and removal of 6 bricks from the wall to eventually get him out! He was very hungry, covered with dust bunnies and cobwebs, but in pretty darn good shape!! The bugger is still here, tormenting me right now with breeding behavior. Gotta luv 'em!!
