i think maybe you are assuming that all steriods are the "bad" ones that body builders / atheletes used to (mis)use .... prednisone is NOT in the same classification of drugs! (my only experience with prednisone is when they prescribed it for ME for an ongoing sinus infection that would not clear up .... 2 days of prednisone and i felt sooo much better ....) IMO, i don't think it could hurt Dude - especially if you are just applying it topically .... even if it's in or near his mouth ... you'd only need to apply a very small amount so if he did end up ingesting SOME, it would be an incredibly teeny amount .... but if it's outside his mouth, i would give it a try for tonite and sunday and then call one of the vets you've gotten referrals for on monday .... (like i said tho ... this is just MY opinion and it is NOT based on iguana experience with this drug ...)
