My ig jake broke a toe a while ago aswell, and he already had a broken finger from his pervious owner that set in a position that gets trampled under his other toes when he walked, so I didnt want his to happen with this foot. So while the break was fresh I made him a home made splint to set the bone to heal in the right place.
I got cardbord, a peice of a tooth pick, and duct tape.
I cut the cardbord the the size of his palm and stuck the toothpick in a position that the nail is right after where the tip ends. I wraped this splint in duct tape for a little coushning, then aplied it to his foot and used gauze tape arounf the finger in 2 places, and arounf the top of the hand in one. I let is stay for 3 - 4 weeks and replaced the tape when needed.
His toe healed up quick and it never gets trampled.
