Psycho Iggy... help me out

I have a 3 year old Iguana, that was becoming used to being around me. I could pet him and approach him with ease... But all of a sudden I can't get near him with out him wipping or hissing with an open mouth... Is there some reason this may be happening or a certain time of the year?? it's been like this now for 5 days.. help please!!!
