Red mites on Iguana?

An Ig came into the store my husband works at, and it appears to have tiny red things crawling all over it. They look like those little red bugs that you find outside. (I'm not sure if the wild ones are spiders, mites, etc)
Anyways, what are these things, and how do you get rid of them? The ig is also dehydrated, but they know how to rehydrate him. I'm guessing the Igs poor health is at least in part due to these red things.
I know the Ig was fed a decent diet, had good heat and uv light, etc. But no one knows where these bugs came from.
Any help would be great!
