Cabbage is a poor choice for a mainstay in an iguana's diet. By mainstay I mean that it should not be a regular (or large) part of your iguana's diet. Occasionally, some cabbage is ok, but not often. Cabbage has something in it that can cause problems for an iguana, when fed in excess. This bad thing is called goitrogens. Goitrogens basically "bind" with dietary iodine, an element that our bodies need, and it makes the iodine unuseable. When anybody (human, mammal, reptile, etc) does not have enough iodine in their bodies, we can get goiters and thyroid problems. Cabbage is very high in goitrogens. So is kale, and so is broccoli. Cabbage should only rarely appear in an iguana's diet. My iguana doesn't like cabbage, anyway. Use it sparingly or skip it altogether. Hope that helps.
Best,
Jamie/JBug
