sometimes, no matter how hard you try, no matter how good a job you do, bad things happen ... it's part of having "kids" ~ whether they're the human kid or the animal kind! it does NOT mean you're a bad humommy! it does mean that you have to be extra careful with them now tho! but don't beat yourself up about it too bad ok? S*** happens + it sux and then you go on!

put some triple antibiotic ointment on the ig's wound ... glob it on right before he goes to bed + is gonna be quiet for the nite, that'll give it a chance to soak in ...

since igs are cold-blooded, they heal slower ... keep up the ointment as long as there is any open or scabbed area ... would be a good idea to take him in to see the vet on monday and get a professional opinion and possibly oral antibiotics ...

be especially careful to keep him warm enough while he's healing ... i wouldn't let him swim in the tub until he's healed abit ... just so that he doesn't get any bacteria from poop in the open wound ...

best wishes!!
Bon. + iZ
iZ says to give him a piece of orange and that will make him feel better ... (*grin*)
