silvadene is prescription so you have to get it from a vet ... IMHO, if you even *think* there is a *chance* the blisters are infected, it is more than worth the trip to a regular vet for the silvadene ... it is a major anti-microbial cream ...
silvadene is good stuff! they use it in hospital burn centers and ICU's for burns and other open wounds ... have used it on iZ when he got a nasty burn (at the animal hospital ... grrr ...) ...
i'm the 1st to admit i *may* tend to over-react ... but ... igs heal slowly because they are cold blooded ... they also hide the fact they are sick extremely well ... a seemingly small infection can spread + do damage before you even *know* there is a problem ... iZ has severe kidney damage + assorted renal problems that started with an infection that spread without me realizing it ... (yeah, i'm REALLY paranoid about igs + possible infections now!)
my 2 cents ~ go to a vet ... get some silvadene to *prevent* as well as treat ... be extra careful with heat sources! (*grin*)
