this is what i did with taming fatty:
at first never actually picked him up. first i just spent time being in the same room with him, then when he didnt look like he was scared to death of me when i walked into the room, i moved closer to him just talking softly over and over...then when he didnt freak, i put my hand in cage, but didnt touch him....when he was calm with that i slowwwwwwly touched the top of his head...slowwwwly. he didnt mind that but only for short periods of time. then we moved step by step closer and closer...little steps.....long amt of time....to me being able to pick him up. and if, at any time, he was upset and scared and just wouldnt calm down....we went back a step for awhile.
brittany, take your time..when we say to go slowwww....it reallly does mean slowwwww. lol

ps. if your iguana is a baby....this could take up to a year. and if it is a iguana that has been abused in the past....same amt of time. dont expect results overnight. if you do all you will get is disappointed. iguanas are a lot of hard work and dedication. good luck!!
: again, you're rushing this far too much. Start off slowly with calmly speaking to him and stroking him. Don't try to pick up until he is much tamer. If you go slowly like you should be, the gloves aren't necessary. And large, bulky gloves will frighten them, and you will also be unable to tell if you are hurting him. In my opion, you should rethink the gloves. Good luck.
