i had this experience with my younger iguanas...
ok i know i havent had a lot of experience with iguanas, but heres what i have noticed....lol
when fatty was an iglet, until he reached about 1 year old, he basked up high during the day, and went to the bottom to sleep at night. once he was older he only slept up high...and now rarely comes off his perch. he gets about 4 hours of free roaming time a day, otherwise, i fear he would NEVER move. he is on the go constantly while out.
now, i have baby louie. he is doing the same thing. basks high and sleeps low at night. he appears to be very content, as did fatty.
could this be a young ig thing???
: Baby crawled down to the bottom of his new cage to sleep last night. I don't have anything on the bottom yet as far as heat goes. Our house remains pretty much between 75-80 degrees at night. I'm a little concerned that he isn't going to get enough heat if he keeps sleeping there at night. What do you guys recommend? Heating pad? Towell, or blankie? Any suggestions would be appreciated. The last thing I want are his little organs to work overtime causing renal failure or something else down the road! J
