I am very sorry for the stir I caused on the Forum today. While
I do appreciate knowing that I add some value to the group, I
feel awful that so many people had to take time to reassure me
that my input is welcome. Especially today. I can't express how
bad I feel about adding a note of negativity to a day that turned out to be tragic for Sue and Draco.
Since my Q died, I haven't been as active in helping folks with
kidney-damaged igs as I was when he was alive and doing well. Even though he didn't die of kidney failure, I'm still not as confident as I was. Today, I made a suggestion that was countered with a valid concern, and that made me question whether my advice is sound. When I came home today, I checked
my records and found that my advice was from one of my vets and
not some interpretation of my own. But that doesn't make the advice foolproof.
But someone made a good point today: There aren't very many people who have had success managing iguanas with kidney problems. Since I was one of the lucky ones, I feel as if I have a duty to do my best to help others enjoy the same success.
So, I'll continue to offer my advice and support, promising to always qualify my posts as the personal experiences of one iguana owner who is not a vet and has no medical training.
Again, my apolgies for any trouble I have caused.
