well, i'd really hope that none of us would get angry at *any* question ...
yes, you DO need to see a vet ... if for no other reason than to be sure of what is going on ... and considering that this is his arm that's injured, you want to do everything possible to help it heal quickly + correctly so that he's not handicapped by it later on ...
i don't know if they cast igs or not ~ iZ wouldn't even let us splint his tail when he broke it ~ igs don't like *things* attached to them ... could be a tricky situation!
i believe that they sometimes immobilize a limb by binding it against the body ... or am i thinking back leg against the tail??? that might be something to ask about tho ... it would limit Bobbit's movement which would be a good thing and *might* not be as hard for him to handle as a cast ... (just thinking out loud, throwing in my change)
and ... MY constant advice ... ask about antibiotics! yeah, that's my own personal paranoia, etc, but it is something to discuss with the vet ... iZ was on oral antibiotics as well as topical ones when he broke his tail ...
a blood panel is also a good thought ~ find out what his serum calcium:phosphorus level is ... could maybe need to be supplemented while the bone is healing????? (more things to ask the vet!)
in the mean time, i'd try to keep him quiet til you know for sure about if it's a break or what is going on ... put him to bed early, turn the lights out early + he should go into "sleep mode" ... i'd try to limit his attempts to use it as much as is humanly possible ... NO climbing, etc ...
iZ sends *bobobobobbs* + dandelion greens for Bobbit to feel better!
+ *head rubbies* from me!
Bon.
and it's ALWAYS at the worst possible time whenever kids, scaley or not, need extra attention! *grin*
