Those spots might be mites :o( If you can run water across them, see if they move then you'll know what you are up against. They like to be around the eyes and the arm/leg pits (so to speak). I think I have the website on mites saved off. If so, I'll leave you the link to it.
Since he was w/out proper heating for a month, you might out to be on the lookout for changes in the fecal material which might clue you to a parasite problem. If left long underheated, they can't process their food properly, etc. etc. and any "thing" "buggy" etc. out there takes the opportunity to infest or multiply beyond acceptable levels.
Hope those aren't mites!
