: : A really good friend of mine just died and he owned an Iguana. I am now taking the Iguana so that it won't be given to a pet store, but, the only problem is that I really don't know a whole lot about Iguanas. It is about 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 feet long and has a cage that is about 6'H 8'L 4'W. I have been told to feed it lettuce about twice a week and to keep a full bowl if Iguana food from the pet store and lots of water in the cage at all times. If anyone has any helpful hints or advice it would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely Phil
Hey phil. DO NOT FEED ICE BURGE LETTUCE. there is to much watter in it. it is really bad for your new pet. Feed romaine lettuce, kale, greens, dandilion, carrots, bannas, mangos, tofu is really good, bean sprouts, babe food is good for them to, and ect..... You should never feed him ice burge lettuce, water melon, or corn. Those are bad for him. the rule of thumb is feed him what you would eat if you trying to eat healther. corn is hard for them to dijest and water melon and ice burge lettuce give them the runs ok Also use a phosphoris free calcium powder on his fresh food that you give. Rep Cal is a good one to buy or Nutri Grow Crickett dusk.
good luck Ray
p.s. rember he can live over 30 years and email me if you have more questions.
