I was told by a guy at Zoomed (maker of Iguana light 5.0)
that the premature black rings, and I mean after a
weeks use means the voltage on the fixture is a little
off, and the light may not be working properly.
Since these lights emit such low levels of UVB to
begin with, I would hate that to lessen those already
low levels. Also, for regular forescent fixtures,
those black rings can actually damage the ballast.
Bottom line -- these florescent UVB lights are a pain.
