I don't know a whole lot about this, but I'll tell you what I know based on my little bit of experience. If the tail is to grow back, or is growing back, it will grow black, with scales eventually growing over it. If that happens, it will look similar to the rest of the color/s of the iguana, but not exact. If it does not grow back, it will remain black during healing, and eventually get covered with scales, again similiar to the color/s of the iguana. But it will look like a stump on the end, rather than slender, like a "regular" tail.
When I had a baby with a broken tail, I bathed him and used iodine on the tip of his tail afterwards, for about a week. It grew back beautifully, but he was only a few months old at the time.
