Sheesh! You make it sound like I'm pro-importing or something! Until the USA stops importing iguanas (and how we all wish they would), there is no reason on earth to breed iguanas here (USA). Whether they are imported or captive bred in the US, the vast majority will either die early and/or end up with rescue groups. Its kind of like living down the street from an animal shelter and yet you go on and let your dog or cat breed. Why bring more ________ (fill in the blank with your animal/reptile of choice) into this world when so many are already here and in need of homes?
Yes, wouldn't it be nice someday to only have captive bred iguanas that costs $200 a piece? Until that happens, I/we implore everyone out there to NOT breed your iguanas.
