The entire spikes actually came off??? Oh my! Dishy that's so awful..poor poor Dishy....don't panic!! Everythings gonna be alright! Hopefully they'll grow back huh! Your ig doesn't even know they're missin ;-) but if he is anything like mine....those retained spike sheds are really a pain to manipulate off...not only for you but its painful for them too! Mine get real annoyed with me when I overdo it and let me know it!. Use the oil...and massage it in the base, spray him down with warm water throughout the day, or apply oil after a bath, working it into each retained casing....if he starts getting cranky ease up on the massaging just get that oil in there, and let it sit! Try again the next day, a couple times a day morning night. Its not important if they don't come off in 1 day or two weeks from now...just keep working on it so the casing comes off without strangulating the spike which takes like a long time to happen! Oh such misery!! (flashbacks of Feo's last shed) shudder!! This one is ALOT better....give Spike lots of water inside & out ;-) too! Hang in there Dishy....they'll come off and then you'll be wonderin what all this fussin was about ;-)
Gina (been there done that...not sweating retained shed no more!)
