How old?

I am wondering if there is another way you can tell an ig's age besides by it's length. The reason I ask is b/c I got my ig from someone who didn't know much about them and also didn't know how old ig was when he got him. Ig is not very big at all, about 12-15 inches total length. Going by size can be very misleading sometimes due to conditions they get that can possibly stunt their growth! Ever since I got him, he has been growing like a weed! He's still still a little brat though!!! lol :) Thanks for the help!
