I waited for 5yrs for our girl Cirsis to show signs of egging. This yr she finally did show signs of egging ,so off she went to be spayed.I worried every yr that she would get egg bound,,fortunately she didn't.
Our vet is very capable and we trusted him,so he spayed her.She did have several eggs broken inside her,but blood tests didn't show any infection thank goodness. She would have had infection had I waited longer tho.
If you want her spayed, don't wait too long, lack of food, water intake lowers too, weakens them. That's what happened to my first girl and she didn't make it.
Cirsis was spayed in April of this yr and we were told that the hormones might take a while to sette down and for her to return to her sweet self. Now she's sweet to us but she doesn't like our male Go anymore and doesn't want him around her.Hopefully that will change, but if not,,,,we'll just keep them apart.Poor Go is going to be disappointed tho,,they mated several times last yr,,but he'll still have his luv sock, the cat and he'll do fine.
Good luck and even tho it isn't proven yet,,,I think they'll live a longer happier life spayed.
