you *need* to get this guy to an ig-vet and soon! a milk-dud sized absess is *not* something to mess around with and not something that you should even attempt to deal with/cure on your own ... and it's my guess that even the most *experienced* ig-person would *still* be going to the vet, not treating it on their own! the reasons being 1) an infection of that size has probably been there a while, has possibly spread and the ig needs to be on prescription antibiotics! 2) there's different kinds of infections and they're treated with different drugs, only a vet + the lab are going to be able to determine what this ig needs for sure ...

do NOT think "oh, it's just a little surface infection, it's no big deal"!!!!! the littlest infection, left untreated, can potentially spread throughout the ig's body, can cause kidney damage and will KILL the iguana ... (my ig is suffering with severe kidney damage, due to a low-grade bacterial infection that i didn't even realize he had until it had nearly destroyed his kidneys ... ) Don't Mess Around With This!

not to be harsh, i know vets can be costly (believe me, i *know*!) but if you cannot afford to take care of an animal and provide the medical attention it *needs*, you need to work on finding it a good home with someone who can ...

(i'm *really* not a b****!)
best wishes + let us know ok???
Bon.
