I have to agree with the post below "Diana" (if I remember correctly) first off. She hit the nail on the head when she said there is way more satisfaction you get from building trust from an animal that doesn't automatically worship you. You work HARD for that trust and soon it may be only YOU they trust enough to let you pick them up when they are angry or scared (or climb and hide on you when at the vet!) I will never be sure whether an iguana can love you, but it's amazing when they tolerate and trust you!
