Sounds like you did all you can, other than to keep looking, and like xta said, maybe try putting out some food or something. He may come home, even if he doesn't "know enough" to do so. Sue3 just went thru this with Fatty, and after stressing all out for a while, she finally went home! So, the most important thing, besides the obvious, is don't give up hope. Best of luck to you.
