I don't think you can count on any such thing but some do return on their own. Try looking up in the trees and surrounding areas. I think others can help you better than me. Just remember they like the sun (so will probably be basking during the day) They may be attracted to a warm light at night (?) Leaving food out wouldn't be a bad idea if there aren't other animals in the area that would be likely to eat it.
