Where are these lumps?...if on the 'sides' of tail my first thought is they're abscesses from bites.
These abscesses will need to be opened up, all caseated (hardened) pus removed with a curette, flushed with a saline/betadine/nolvasan, an antibiotic ointment applied needing repeated treatments of the same. Your vet will instruct you how to do follow-up treatments at home, as abscesses like these need alot of time to heal. You may see more abscesses appearing. Talk to your vet about what he/she thinks is the cause. I still think cagemate bites but your ig may also have a systemic bacterial infection or? AND on top of that the little one may need to go on oral antibiotics. To make it short....SEE YOUR VET! They will only get worse!
