Mr. Joe,
Talking about humans first. Certain substances can be taken orally or otherwise that are not completely digested by your system. What the body tries to do is to eliminate the substance either by the urinary system, digestive system, by exhaling( respiratory ) or through the skin ( via sweat glands ). Remember, your body is trying to get rid of it, not utilize it.
What happens with carotine(sic) and other potentially, mildly or substantially toxic substances, the body tries to get rid of it ASAP.
This is especially true of solutions containing metals such as silver, gold, aluminum and others ( mostly being pedalled by the $7.00 hour health store clerk ). What happens in the elimination process is that the metal gets permanently stored in your skin as it is being discharged by the body. Therefore, people who take these so called natural health solutions eventually over many years turn the color of the metal solutions they are taking - ie: you start looking like the tin man from the wizard of oz. Or in the case of carrots, you turn a nice shade of orange ( not tan ). If you are eating that many carrots or drinking that much carrot juice ( more likely ) you are ingesting toxic levels of carotine ( sic ), which are going to cause a host of other serious problems ( other than turning orange ).
So now to your ig. Do you really want to feed your ig things that its body will try very hard to get rid of ? You really don't know what the side effects will be, not now, maybe not in 5 years - but do you want to take that chance just so just so you can inhance certain colors in your ig. Use bananas as an example: they will generally turn your igs head and head area a nice turquoise blue - however too much banana will dangerously cause calcium depletion in your igs system ( cause the potassium will bind with the calcium ).
I would say that by feeding your ig as much of a natural diet as possible, without the experimentation, is your best bet. And if, by chance, your ig happens to turn blue, green, yellow, orange, etc. then that's great - but it wasn't an artificially induced result with unplanned side effects.
