You know how Fluker Farms state that due to a particular supplementation in certain minerals, they came up with the "Blue Diamond" Iguana?
Is this whole thing true?
I know Carotene DOES affect to an extent skin pigmentation in humans, if taken daily by dosage or by eating lots of carrotts. But, such an effect takes A LOOONG TIME, so i have yet to see what it does to my ig Soni.
And i know as a fact that Flamingos get their pink coloration by eating certain tiny shrimps, which happent to be pinkish/red (duh!).
Varanus Albigularis that inhabit iron/mineral-rich soil tend to have a particular reddish coloration of their skin, due to continuos exposure to that soil. The normal pigment comes back at every shed.
Can certain minerals or vitamins or the like really affect the animal's skin color due to extended exposure/supplementation?
Thanks in advance!
