I believe that keeping an iguana caged, in most cases is a barrier and obstacle to them becoming tame and comfortable with the pet owner. So, yes, I believe that free roam is the key to them becoming tame in a simple natural way, but the pet keeper has to come and go daily to tend to the iguana's needs, then the iguana becomes comfortable with the human. The idea being that the iguana is in a peaceful safe feeling environment, so the iguana can become calm. A calm iguana is a trained iguana in my view. BTW, when I say free roam, I don't mean all over a house, I mean uncaged, in an iguana safe ROOM of a house. In the case of a breeding season mood or behavior, keeping the iguana in this same iguana safe room is what I recommend.
