they arent very winter hardy. so they need to be planted in a well protected area.

: I live in Utah, and have been trying (without any sucess) to get a hold of a Hibiscus bush to plant for my Iguana. (I brought him some Hibiscus flowers home from a trip to Florida last spring and he thought he died and had gone to heaven--he ate 'em all in one sitting!)
: Do you know if they grow in any climates other than the deep South? (That's the only place I've seen them.) It's hot here in Utah, but very dry. We have summers that last from May to October.
