What we do with some of ours, is throw a soaking wet washcloth over them, when we have the iguana in the bath tub. This usually takes care of the problem, although your problem sounds alittle more intense. I think you might have a humidity problem with the cage. Do you know what level you keep the humidity in the cage? The higher the level, the better shedding goes. We have better shedding with our iguanas during the winter months, than we do in the summer; because we use a humidifier 24/7 in the iguana room in the winter time. If you can't raise the humidity level in the cage, you will have to mist your iguana quite often, during the day. Also, don't be sursprised if you don't see results for 4 to 6 months, with the appearance of the spikes. It will take at least that long to recover from the damage, maybe more.
