alfalfa is *not* a necessity for igs ... and as far as pellets go, most igs won't eat them readily ...

alfalfa itself, is *very high* in protein, more than what is healthy for the ig! a diet high in protein is hard on the ig's kidneys/renal system and can cause real problems ... (i realize this goes against what MK says ... and for the record, tho i disagree about alfalfa, she *is* one of my heroes!)

if you have a fairly balanced diet for your ig, you shouldn't need to be adding all the extra protein/alfalfa ... your ig will be getting what it needs from collards, squash, beans, etc ...

trust me on this one, you do *not* want to run the risk of renal problems ... it's a nightmare!
