nope not too soon,we did ours when they were young so they'd get use to it before they could do some real damage.
Your little one sounds like a sweetie and is learning to trust Mom.It is a wonderful feeling to gain their trust isn't it.
Just beware,,,,they will steal your heart and soul and you'll never be the same.
