i live in the midwest states where it gets pretty darn cold ... plus, the house we rent is 125 yo and so is lacking in insulation ... when my iZ reached 4' long (+ continued to grow like a weed til he hit 5' ...) we fixed up his own room for him ... it's a small room, 8'x10' ... if you've got a room that you can give over to your ig, i think that's probably easier than to try + build an enclosure that's big enough! or if it's a *large* room, maybe partition off some/most of it??? might get a bit too warm for *your* comfort tho if you keep your PC in there! (oh ~ even with his own room, iZ still gets time every evening when he hangs out with us in the livingroom ... )

i got one of those electric heaters that look rather like the old steam radiators ... there's a closet in the room and i took the door off of it and put the heater in there and then stapled plastic mesh over the opening so iZ couldn't get too close to the heater itself ... this kept his room toasty warm all winter, even while the rest of the house was chilly!

you could just heat up a corner instead of an enclosed place, but the problem with that would be that the ig isn't going to get much exercise because s/he's not going to want to move out of the warm corner ... they tend to slow down during the winter anyway because of the shorter daylight hours ... too great a lack of exercise can cause digestion/constipation problems ...

don't know if this helps or confuses you more ... let me know if i can add more to the explanation of iZ's room ...

Bon.
