spayed Lizzy digging??

I really hoped to keep up with reading this summer, but too busy. Lizzy is continually growing (53" 8-9 lbs, is loving the summer sun. She has taken a liking to my pillow again. She's been sitting on it a lot lately, which is what she did a year ago when she was gravid. She was spayed last Aug 7. Egg gland, ovaries, and 28 eggs. Yesterday she started digging, and digging, and digging, on my pillow. Is this an instinct left behind? It really surprised me!
