I am a fairly new iguana owner, had my guy for about 6 months now and bought him from a pet shop (sorry dont be mad, didnt know about rescue services then as I do now from reading this forum, wont happen again) when I bought him I went there and looked in this huge hexagonal type aquarium they had about 50 baby igs in and tried to see which one was best. Well I found the one I wanted and asked the pet shop clerk to get the one I wanted, well she really was scared and scared all of the baby igs to death trying to get the one I wanted. I ended up slowly sticking my hand in the tank and gently grabbing the one I wanted with no problem. He looked skinny to me as well as the other baby igs in there. Well I brought him home and at the moment have him in a 55 gallon tank while I build my own enclosure. From what he looked like then till now is a dramatic change. His color is alot greener, he is fattening up and has shedded so many times with no problems it is hard to count. He eats like a little pig and cleans his pplate everytime. He roams all over the tanks climbing on everything I have in there, his poop looks great too (if that is possible) and he is just doing great. I contribute all this to your great ladies and gentlemen out there who have answered my posts stupid as some of them may have been and from reading all I can on here from other posts from ig owners. I want to say thank you, you have made me more knowledgable and have put me in the right direction to caring for my ig. I am glad there is a place like this for new ig owners to come for help. I got an iguana knowing all the circumstances that come with owning one of these beautiful creatures and wouldnt have gotten one if I didnt know the responsibility that comes with owning one. It is sad to hear so many stories about igs being abandoned due to the owners lack of knowledge. I will continue to read this forum everyday and keep on posting my questions because I know I will get the best help available. Thank you all again you are the greatest!!!!!
