Here's a diagram from Adam Britton's claw trimming page. This figure shows where you need to clip. Small animal or reptile clippers work well. Also known to work well is a dremel. I myself use Henry Lizardlover's Nial Melter tool. If you clip, you'll want to think about filing as well, to make the ends smoot. You'll want a helper to hold the ig while he's wrapper in a towel.
