When I rescued my last ig Salvador, he had a nasty scab 1/4 thick on most of his belly. I wish I would have taken a pic of it then, but quite frankly I didn't think he was going to make it-- quite sad shape. It was so disgusting I didn't even know it was a scab! The previous owners didn't seem too concerned and said it was burn on top of burn because he was too stupid to know to get off the hot rock even though he was cooking himself. They gave me the hotrock and told me to wrap a sock around it so as to prevent further burns. After a couple months, and lotsa anibiotic cream, the scab fell off, leaving scar tissue behind-- no more scales-- they were melted together and he was permenantly disfigured-- as shown in pic above. There was all kinds of debris stuck inside the scab from unclean cage conditions as well-- nasty! Salvador grew up to be a handsome ig, but now is a scaley green angel-- even looking down from herp heaven, he probably still has that damn hot rock scar!!! Need I say more-- SAY NO TO HOT ROCKS!
