Hot Rocks? Could you help me out with this....

Im doing some research for the SPSAC (stop pet store abuse club) on hot rocks. Most people know they are not good for reptiles and they learned from either experience or word of mouth. Could you possibly tell me your experience with hot rocks, problems you've had with them, and things that you'v heard from other people? I know hot rocks are generaly considered bad...can you tell me why you think that? The SPSAC is trying to spread word about how the hot rocks can be very harmful to animals but we need stories and your opinions!
